New York: The Colophon Ltd., 1931. Limited First Edition. Hardcover. Copy #245 of 300 signed by the author and with Kent's "thumb-print mark". This was a special edition produced by the Bibliophile journal as an "Experiment in Publishing". Subscrbers to the journal were invited to request a copy, not to prepay, but to wait for confirmation that a copy was available, and to then receive a bill. If the series were to be oversubscribed, winners of this quasi-lottery would be randomly assigned a copy. It is not known whether this issue was oversubscribed, but few seem to be on the market. This copy is unusual in that the prospectus and request-form is offered with it, along with a couple of ephemeral other forms from Colophon Ltd. Kent's charming small woodcuts & vignettes head up each poem. The poems themselves are clever and poignant, the musings and observations of a modern woman. Small tall 8vo illustrated paste-paper boards with buckram spine and paper-label in a delicate slipcase box that repeats the lovely design of the book's covers. Book, slipcase, and ephemera are all in fine condition.
