This somewhat elusive first UK edition was published the year after the American edition. 8vo, light gray paper covered boards with gold lettering on spine. [Levack 40c]. Nominated for the Nebula Award for Best Novel in 1965 and included in David Pringle's SCIENCE FICTION: THE 100 BEST NOVELS (#44). Pretty nice copy overall. Binding is straight and sound. There is some light foxing, mostly to top edge which is also slightly dust-soiled, and there is a small dark stain on the rear panel. Very good or better in original dust jacket that has 3 short tears and a soft vertical crease on the rear panel.
