This dystopian novella takes place in an unspecified future in which individuality has been abolished and mankind has entered another Dark Age. First published by Cassell in England in 1938, now extremely rare. This is the first printing of the first American hardcover edition without any additional printing statements on copyright. 8vo, green cloth binding stamped in black. Slight fading to edges of boards with wear and rubbing to front corner tips. Very good in good to very good dust jacket. Jacket is quite wrinkled on the front panel, with noticeable wear and tear to edges, and slight loss to spine ends and extremities. Luckily no serious loss, and overall presents better than it sounds.
